Return of the Indies! The small and the local! Hooray-for-books day! As the lead organizer for Edmonton’s Indie Bookstore Extravaganza, Céline has been so busy prepping the whole damn thing that we’ve fallen a wee bit behind on event planning for our own bookstore. LOREM IPSUM, as the graphic designer kids say. In any case, we’ll be celebrating the occasion with:
- GIVEAWAYS & PRIZES (exactly what and how TBD)
- CAFE VOUCHERS hidden in books throughout the bookstore as zesty lil surprises! You do have the purchase the book to get the voucher!
- FOOD TRUCK: Absolute top food truck and staff favourite Flipside BBQ will be there all day, 10am - 7pm!
- MASSIVE $5 BOOK TABLES: Tons of $5 books with some treasures tucked in with them!
- EXTENDED HOURS: 9am - 7pm, baby!
- JOYFUL VIBES ALL DAY!
Along with fifteen other indie bookstores in Edmonton and area, we'll be participating in the aforementioned Edmonton Indie Bookstore Extravaganza the whole weekend long! Pick up a passport at the first indie you visit, and bop along to as many as you can during the course of the weekend. The more indies you visit, the higher chance you have of winning a prize. There's even a free Bookstore Bus, courtesy of ETS, looping through central bookstores on both the North and South Side.
